Whenever I try to spawn a new process in python I get the following error:

Code:

  File "/python_root/local/vms/starlet/ptdlib.py", line 210, in __init__
    flags=CLI_M_NOWAIT, prompt=prompt)
VMSError: [Errno 2264] %SYSTEM-W-MBFULL, mailbox is full

As it states this is due to a mailbox full, which I found out is caused because VMS tries to send all logicals and symbols to the newly created process.
As suggested on some sites I tried increasing the DEFMBX but to no avail.

Is it possible to get python to spawn the process with the CLI$M_NOCLISYM and/or CLI$M_NOLOGNAM flags enabled?

Any help will be appreciated!

Finally figured it out it was due to a custom module that called sys$setrwm(FALSE) in its initialization, thereby disabling wait for mailbox.

Sorry for the trouble!
