Hi,

I need to split my innoDB db on more than 1 disk !

What is the correct syntax to be used in MY.CNF ?

Running MySQL 5.1.23 RC on IA64.

Current situation : my.cnf
Code:

innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:4000M;ibdata2:4000M;ibdata3:4000M;ibdata4:4000M;....
innodb_data_home_dir = /mysql051_root/data/

Thanks,
Dominique.

Hi Dominique,

From the 5.1 documentation:

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/adding-and-removing.html

You can use
Code:
innodb_data_file_path = /ibdata/ibdata1:988M;/disk2/ibdata2:50M:autoextend

So you can specified a full pathname for the various ibdata file.

Not related, 5.1.36 is online (beta kit).

I alreadty read this, but it is not as clear as it could be !

Do I simply have to create concealed devices :
Code:

$ Define /System /Exec /Trans=(conc, term) Disk1 DSA93:[MYSQL051.DATA]
$ Define /System /Exec /Trans=(conc, term) Disk2 DSA94:[MYSQL051.DATA]

Do I have to remove the line innodb_data_home_dir ?

is the next configuration file OK ?
Code:

innodb_data_file_path = /disk1/ibdata1:4000M;/disk2/ibdata2:4000M;/disk1/ibdata3:4000M; ...

Other point, is it better to alternate from 1 disk to the other, creating 4GB files, or filling up the first disk before the other one ?

The data live time being about 15 days before being deleted !

Using it or not ??? that's THE question !
