Dear all,

I have installed 5.1.23-rc on OpenVMS Alpha 7.3-2 and it so far it seems everything is running fine. I tried to do some benchmarking with sysbench (running on a Linux box) and noticed the following:

When ever I try to create a table for testing with more than 1073 entries I receive this error on the linux box:

# /usr/local/bin/sysbench --test=oltp --db-driver=mysql --mysql-host=10.94.76.194 --mysql-user=root --mysql-password=xxx --oltp-table-size=1074 prepare
sysbench v0.4.8: multi-threaded system evaluation benchmark

Creating table 'sbtest'...
Creating 1074 records in table 'sbtest'...
ALERT: failed to execute MySQL query: `INSERT INTO sbtest(k, c, pad) VALUES (0,' ','qqqqqqqqqqwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrtttttttttt'),(0,' ','qqqqqqqqqqwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrtttttttttt'),(0,'
[...]
,ALERT: Error 2006 MySQL server has gone away
FATAL: failed to create test table!

Of course I already searched for reasons, but all that I really could find is tuning the parameter "max_packet_size" - so I set that parameter to 16M, but that doesn't make any difference.

I have to say that I am a total OpenVMS novice (but already dug myself through most of the online available documentation), so possibly this is also a OpenVMS miscconfiguration, rather than a MySQL problem (my MySQL experience is also rather little, but I have quit a lot experience with other RDMS).

So I would appreciate if someone could point me to some direction how to solve this. If any more info is needed, please let me know.

Thanks a lot in advance.

This is a know problem which is fixed in the forthcoming kit.

Also note that the current kit is know to have many problems with MyISAM.
This is also fixed in the forthcoming kit.

Thanks for you feed back.

Hello,

Can you post the mysqld log file from the OpenVMS side?

Thanks,
