Has there been any improvement on the support of VMS Clusters in the port of MySQL on OpenVMS?

Thanks,

If you mean run a instance of MySQL on more than 2 members of a cluster and shared the same database, this will, probably never happen.

You can run more than one instance of MySQL in a cluster but on different database.

What we can provide, is some kind of automatic failover between cluster node of the MySQL server process. This no implemented, in fact it is on the todo list...

Bill,

have you thought of using OpenVMS Service Control
see http://www.openservicecontrol.org/
It has Agents for MYSQL available, so it is only a matter of configuration, not that I'm claiming that will be easy.

Thanks, John.

My original query was aimed at encouraging open source taking advantage of native features of OpenVMS or at least discerning the state of MySQL on OpenVMS Clusters.

While the fail-over can be implemented that does nothing to facilitate increase performance by using a cluster for MySQL as it is not cluster aware.

Bill.
