I've been using one of my existing perl programs to test my VMS MySQL installation, and I noticed a significant performance difference between the VMS MySQL server and my old Linux MySQL server. After some investigation, I noticed that the VMS server didn't insert a single query into the query cache. The same test set achieved a ~97% cache insert rate on Linux. Both servers are using the exact same query cache configuration (included below). I also tried explicit 'SELECT SQL_CACHE...' statements from the client binary included in the VMS kit, but still no cache inserts.

Is this a known issue on VMS?

Code:
mysql> show variables like 'query_cache%';
+------------------------------+----------+
| Variable_name                | Value    |
+------------------------------+----------+
| query_cache_limit            | 1048576  |
| query_cache_min_res_unit     | 4096     |
| query_cache_size             | 16777216 |
| query_cache_type             | ON       |
| query_cache_wlock_invalidate | OFF      |
+------------------------------+----------+

No, it's not known. I will take a look.

Thanks for reporting.
