Hello Jean-François,

I've recently updated to the latest Python Kit jfppy0802i_279.zip
Now I'm testing all the functions needed in production:

paramiko is missing _PYCRYPTO.EXE

Python 2.7.9 (default, May 4 2015, 16:20:15) [DECC] on OpenVMS
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import paramiko
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "/python_root/local/paramiko/__init__.py", line 30, in <module>
from paramiko.transport import SecurityOptions, Transport

from Crypto.Util import _counter
ImportError: %LIB-E-ACTIMAGE, error activating image $33$LDA12:[PYTHON279.][LOCAL.CRYPTO]_PYCRYPTO.EXE;
-RMS-E-FNF, file not found
>>>

Am I missing something or is the kit not complete?

Thanks

Urs

Hello Urs,

strange, on my system :
Code:
sg1> python
Python 2.7.9 (default, May  4 2015, 16:20:15) [DECC] on OpenVMS
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import paramiko
>>>

Code:
sg1> dir python_root:[local.crypto]

Directory PYTHON_ROOT:[local.Crypto]

Cipher.DIR;1        Hash.DIR;1          pct_warnings.py;1   pct_warnings.pyc;1
Protocol.DIR;1      PublicKey.DIR;1     Random.DIR;1        SelfTest.DIR;1
Signature.DIR;1     Util.DIR;1          __init__.py;1       __init__.pyc;1

Total of 12 files.

Maybe some logicals of previous version generate the problem ?

Hello Jean-François,

yep - lots of old logicals were laying around with reference to _pycrypto.exe:

"PYTHON_MODULE_AES" = "python_root:[local.Crypto]_pycrypto.exe"
"PYTHON_MODULE_ARC2" = "python_root:[local.Crypto]_pycrypto.exe"
...
"PYTHON_MODULE__COUNTER" = "python_root:[local.Crypto]_pycrypto.exe"
"PYTHON_MODULE__FASTMATH" = "python_root:[local.Crypto]_pycrypto.exe"

I removed all Python_* logicals and made a fresh @python_vms:startup

Now the problem with paramiko is solved.

Thank you!

Urs

Hello Urs,

There is a procedure PYTHON_ROOT:[vms]deassign_modules_logicals.com
which deletes all logicals.
